Text
The commissioner of health shall seek the full participation of federal health care programs under this chapter, including Medicare, medical assistance, veterans administration programs, and other federal programs. The commissioner of human services shall submit waiver requests and take other action necessary to obtain federal approval to allow participation of the medical assistance program. If federal approval is not given for one or more federal programs, data on the amount of health care spending that is collected under section62J.04shall be adjusted so that state and regional spending limits take into account the failure of the federal program to participate.
