Subdivision 1.Scope. The definitions in this section apply to this chapter. Subd. 2.Adult. "Adult" means an individual who is at least 18 years of age. Subd. 3.Agent. "Agent" means an individual who is:

(1)a health care agent, as defined in section145C.01, subdivision 2; or
(2)expressly authorized to make an anatomical gift on the principal's behalf by any other record signed by the principal. Subd. 4.Anatomical gift. "Anatomical gift" means a donation of all or part of a human body to take effect after the donor's death for the purpose of transplantation, therapy, research, or education. Subd. 5.Decedent. "Decedent" means a deceased individual whose body or part is or may be the source of an anatomical gift. The term includes a stillborn infant or an embryo or fetus that has died o
