Upon the conclusion of the proceedings and the payment of the awards, the several tracts of land shall be deemed to be taken and appropriated for the purposes of sections465.26to465.48, and the title thereto shall vest in the city. In case the city council shall in any case be unable to determine to whom the damages should in any particular case be paid, or in case of adverse claim in relation thereto, or in case of the legal disability of any person interested, the city council shall, and in any and every case the city council may in its discretion deposit the amount of damages with the district court of the county in which such city is situate, for the use of the parties entitled thereto, and the court shall, upon the application of any person interested, and upon such notice as the cour
