If not annulled or set aside, such award shall be final and a charge upon the city, for the payment of which the credit of the city shall be pledged. Such assessments shall be and remain a lien and charge upon the respective lands until paid. The award shall be paid to the persons entitled thereto or deposited and set apart in the treasury of the city for the use of the persons entitled thereto within six months after the confirmation of the appraisement and award. In case any appeal shall be taken from the order confirming the appraisement and assessment, as hereinafter provided, the time for payment of the awards shall be extended until and including 60 days after the final determination of all appeals taken in the proceedings, and in case of any change in the awards or assessment upon a
