(a)Pawnbrokers that are in business when a municipality adopts an ordinance under this chapter must apply for a license and pay the required fee within six months of adoption of the ordinance.
(b)A county that has adopted an ordinance under Minnesota Statutes 1994, sections471.924to471.927, must conform the ordinance to this chapter by August 1, 1997. Pawnbrokers that are in business when a municipality adopts a new ordinance under this chapter must apply for a license and pay the required fee within six months of the adoption of the new ordinance.
