Subdivision 1.Boards' powers. Each board may make whatever rules are necessary to carry out sections319B.01to319B.12. Except as stated in this section, nothing in sections319B.01to319B.12restricts or limits in any manner the authority or duty of a board with respect to persons furnishing professional services within the jurisdiction of the board, even if the person is an owner, director, governor, officer, manager, employee, agent, or independent contractor of a professional firm and furnishes professional services through that firm. Subd. 2.Liability shield.

(a)Except as stated in paragraph (b), no board may directly or indirectly require a person providing professional services through a professional firm to assume greater liability for the firm's debts and obligations than is contemp
