Subdivision 1.Voluntary foster care.
When the agency's screening team, based upon the diagnostic and functional assessment under section245.4885or medical necessity screenings under section256B.092, subdivision 7, determines the child's need for treatment due to a mental illness, developmental disability, or related condition requires foster care placement of the child, a voluntary foster care agreement between the child's parent and the agency gives the agency legal authority to place the child in foster care.
