Text

(a)Sections216D.01to216D.07do not affect or impair local ordinances, charters, or other provisions of law requiring permits to be obtained before excavating.
(b)A person with a permit for excavation from the state or a public agency is subject to sections216D.01to216D.07. The state or public agency that issued a permit for excavation is not liable for the actions of an excavator who fails to comply with sections216D.01to216D.07.
