(a)Licensed child foster care providers, except individuals related to the child who only care for a relative child, that care for infants or children through five years of age must document that before caregivers assist in the care of infants or children through five years of age, the caregivers are instructed on the standards in section142B.46and receive training on reducing the risk of sudden unexpected infant death and abusive head trauma from shaking infants and young children. Licensed child foster care providers who are related to the child, and who only care for a relative child, must document completion of the training required under this section within 30 days after licensure.
