ANIMALS RUNNING AT LARGE (EXCERPT) Act 328 of 1976 433.18 Return of animal to owner; claim; conditions. Sec.
8.The owner of an animal in the custody or possession of a law enforcement agency pursuant to this act, at any time prior to the sale thereof, may claim and be entitled to the possession of the animal. Upon payment to the law enforcement agency of reasonable compensation for the care and keeping of the animal, upon satisfactory proof of ownership of the animal, and upon making reparation as provided in section 3, the animal shall be returned to its owner.
