§ 5 §81-A — Transition period

Maine·Title 5 ADMINISTRATIVE PROCEDURES AND SERVICES·Part 1 STATE DEPARTMENTS·Ch. 5 SECRETARY OF STATE
In order to provide for an orderly transition following the biennial election of the Secretary of State, the Secretary of State-elect may not take the oath of office or otherwise qualify for the office for a period of no less than 30 days following that election.
