§ 12 §13062 — Certificate of number for motorboats carrying passengers for hire
1.Certificate required.
A person may not operate a motorboat carrying passengers for hire without a certificate of number as required under this section.
2.Application.
Before a motorboat may carry passengers for hire, the owner of the motorboat shall apply for and obtain from the commissioner a certificate of number authorizing its use for that purpose. This section applies to all motorboats carrying passengers for hire as defined in section 13001, subsection 17, except those subject to federal inspection requirements that have or are required to have a current valid federal inspection certificate on board.
3.Issuance.
Before the certificate of number required under subsection 1 is issued, the owner shall satisfy the commissioner that the boat is safe to operate and will be maintained
