Text
1.Register watercraft.
The commissioner shall annually register watercraft and issue certificates, licenses and permits as provided in this chapter.
2.Promote safety; education courses.
The commissioner shall promote safety for persons and property in connection with the use and operation of watercraft. The commissioner, in accordance with section 13051, shall implement the boater safety and education course or equivalency exam requirements of this chapter.
3.Federal grants.
The commissioner may participate in such federal grants in aid as may be forthcoming to the State from the federal Boat Safety Act of 1971, Public Law 92-75, as amended.
4.Coast Guard report.
The commissioner shall make an annual report to the Coast Guard as required under federal law of the certificates of number
