Except as provided in subsection 1, paragraphs F, I and J, a person who violates subsection 1 commits a Class E crime for which the sentencing alternative may include only the penalties provided in Title 17‑A, section 1704, subsection 5 and Title 17‑A, section 1705, subsection 5.
