Text
(a)There is a Criminal Injuries Compensation Board in the Governor’s Office of Crime Prevention and Policy.
(b)(1) The Board consists of seven members.
(2)The membership of the Board shall reflect the racial, ethnic, geographic, and gender diversity of the State.
(3)Of the seven members of the Board:
(i)one shall be a family member of a homicide victim;
(ii)at least one shall be a survivor of violence who is a member of a community that experiences disproportionately high rates of violence and incarceration; and
(iii)at least one shall be a representative of an organization that provides assistance to victims applying for victim compensation.
(4)The Executive Director shall appoint the
