Text

Section 12I. The governor shall annually issue a proclamation setting apart the third week of May as American Indian Heritage week, and recommending that it be observed by the people with appropriate exercises commemorative of the Indian tribes of Massachusetts. Wednesday of said week shall be designated in said proclamation as Massasoit Day in memory of the services that Chief Massasoit performed on behalf of the first European settlers to this commonwealth.
