Section 24F.

(a)Subject to the requirements of sections 24D and 24E, which shall take precedence over this section, before making any nonrecurring payment equal to or in excess of $500 to a claimant under a contract of insurance, every company authorized to issue policies of insurance pursuant to this chapter shall exchange information with the department of revenue to ascertain whether that claimant owes taxes to the commonwealth. The company shall either provide the department of revenue with information about the claimant or examine information made available by the department of revenue and updated not more than once a month.
