[ Text of section effective until March 1, 2026. For text effective March 1, 2026, see below.]Section 72A. The department may upon petition authorize an electric company to enter upon lands of any person or corporation for the purpose of making a survey preliminary to eminent domain proceedings. The department shall give notice of the authorization granted, by registered mail, to the landowners involved at least five days prior to any entry by such electric company. The company entering upon any such lands shall be subject to liability for any damages occasioned thereby, to be recovered under chapter seventy-nine.Chapter 164: Section 72A.
