Section 104. For examining, comparing and testing gas meters, the department may collect a fee, the amount of which shall be determined annually by the commissioner of administration under the provision of section three B of chapter seven, for each meter with a rated gas capacity of nine hundred and fifty cubic feet per hour or less; for each meter with a rated capacity of more than nine hundred and fifty cubic feet per hour up to and including thirty-four hundred cubic feet per hour, and for each meter having a rated capacity in excess of thirty-four hundred cubic feet per hour. For examining, comparing, testing or calibrating any other apparatus used in the manufacture or distribution of gas, the department may collect such reasonable fees as it may from time to time prescribe.
