Section 9. There is hereby established, pursuant to and in conformity with the provisions of Title XIX, a program of medical assistance, hereafter referred to in this chapter as Medicaid, for certain residents of the commonwealth.Medicaid benefits shall be available to all persons eligible for financial assistance under the provisions of chapter one hundred and eighteen and Title IV of the Social Security Act and to all persons who are eligible for supplemental security income payments on account of age, disability or blindness under the provisions of Title XVI of said Social Security Act or for assistance under the provisions of chapter one hundred and eighteen A, and such other persons as may be required under Title XIX and regulations adopted thereunder.
