Section 9.

(a)No person shall provide EMS or hold oneself out as, or use the title of EMS first responder, basic or intermediate emergency medical technician or paramedic, or the acronym EMT, or any other title or acronym used by the department in the certification of EMS personnel under this chapter, unless such person has successfully completed the appropriate course in emergency medical care approved by the department pursuant to this chapter or offered by a course sponsor accredited by the department pursuant to this chapter, or has received the appropriate training in the provision of emergency medical care which, subject to such regulations as the department may establish, the department finds to be substantially equivalent to that provided by the equivalent full courses in emergenc
