Notwithstanding any general or special law to the contrary, the department, in consultation with the board of registration in medicine, shall promulgate regulations authorizing a physician, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or certified nurse midwife who is authorized under chapter 94C to prescribe and dispense prescription drugs and who diagnoses infections due to Chlamydia trachomatis in individual patients, to prescribe and dispense such prescription drugs to a patient's sexual partners for the presumptive treatment of Chlamydia infection without an examination of the patient's sexual partners.Section 121B.
