§410. Filiation; ordinary proceedings A filiation action pursuant to Civil Code Article 197 shall be a civil action brought in an ordinary proceeding under Book II of the Code of Civil Procedure and may be instituted separately or cumulated in a succession proceeding. However, the mere commencement of a succession proceeding under Book VI of the Code of Civil Procedure shall not constitute the instituting of a filiation action for purposes of Civil Code Article 197.
