§2361. Parent's right of usufruct No parent of a minor child shall have the right of usufruct with respect to any property acquired by such child by donation inter vivos from his or her father or mother, unless such property shall have been donated by written act executed by the father or mother and the right to such usufruct has been reserved therein. This Section is intended to and does apply to donations inter vivos heretofore made, but any parent who has heretofore made a donation inter vivos to his or her minor child shall have the right, for a period of six months from the effective date hereof, to preserve such right of usufruct with respect to the property so given as such donor had prior to the effective date hereof by executing a notarial act claiming such right and recording the
