Each dealer, distributor or importer of gasoline or motor fuel, lubricating oil, or kerosene shall secure, maintain and keep for a period of two years a complete record of gasoline or motor fuel, lubricating oil and kerosene by him received, used, sold or delivered within this state, with invoices, bills of lading and other pertinent records and papers as may be required by the collector for the reasonable administration of this Part and Parts I, II, and III of this Chapter. All such records shall be open for inspection by the collector at all reasonable hours. The collector is specifically authorized to examine at all reasonable hours the books, records and other documents of all transportation companies, agencies or firms operating in this state, whether these companies, agencies or firm
