§51.1. Contribution to cost of foster care by parent
A. When making a recommendation for parental contribution to the costs of care and
treatment in accordance with Children's Code Article 685, the department shall calculate an
amount in accordance with the provisions of the Louisiana Administrative Code, Title 67,
Part V, Subpart 5, Chapter 35, §3501.
B. Assistance from the natural or adoptive parent or tutor will only be made to aid
in defraying the cost of such contracts, plus amounts and benefits available to the foster child
or through his natural or adoptive parent or tutor from other sources, including such sources
as social security, veterans administration, private insurance, Louisiana Department of
Health, Department of Education, including special education and vocational rehabilitation.
