§1606. Annual appropriation NOTE: Subsection A and Paragraph (B)(1) eff. until an Act of the Louisiana Legislature containing a specific appropriation of monies for the implementation of Act 348 of the 2025 Regular Session becomes effective. See Acts 2025, No.

A.The legislature shall appropriate to the office of elderly affairs, for distribution by the executive director of the office to the various voluntary parish councils on aging, funds sufficient to allocate to each parish council two dollars and fifty cents for each person sixty years or older who is a resident of the parish as shown by the latest official census estimate or one hundred thousand dollars, whichever is greater.
