Sales of all sixteenth section school lands in the state made prior to the first day of January, 1900, are ratified and confirmed, notwithstanding informalities in the sales relative to appraisement and offering the lands in lots of forty acres, where it is affirmatively shown that the purchase price of the lands has actually been paid into the state treasury, provided that the parish treasurer or other officer making the sale, filed his proces verbal and made a deed to the purchaser, who actually went into possession of the property in issue. The purchaser or his transferees may pay into the state treasury any part of the purchase price, as to which it may not be reasonably possible to affirmatively show payment and then he may receive the full benefit of this Section.
