§1604.1. Preference in awarding contracts

A.In the awarding of contracts by any public entity, except contracts for the construction, maintenance, or repair of highways and streets, and contracts financed in whole or in part by contributions or loans from any agency of the United States government, where both in-state and out-of-state vendors are bidding, in-state vendors shall be given a preference in the same manner that any of the out-of-state vendors would be given on a comparative bid in their own state. If one party to a joint venture is qualified under this Section as a vendor domiciled in Louisiana, this qualification shall extend to all parties to the joint venture. For the purpose of this Section, a foreign corporation which was qualified to do business in the state of Louisiana
