Text

The authorities charged with the care and preservation of the public levees shall compel the removal of all existing siphons constructed or laid otherwise than in accordance with the provisions of this Section and the restoration of the levees, wherever cut or altered for the insertion or passage of siphons to the shape and condition prior to insertion or passage. No person shall refuse to remove any illegally laid or shaped siphon or to allow its removal by the direction of any competent authority. Whoever violates this Section shall be fined not more than five hundred dollars or imprisoned for not more than six months, or both.
