Any land owner owning lands or other property assessed for taxes under the provisions of this Part, shall have the privilege of paying the total tax assessment provided under R.S. 38:1631 to the secretary-treasurer of the board of commissioners at any time on or before a date to be fixed by the board of commissioners, and the amount to be paid shall be the full amount of the tax levied, less any amount added thereto to meet interest. The board of commissioners shall fix the time after which the privilege of paying the total tax assessment shall not exist, which shall not be subsequent to the date of any bonds that may be issued and shall give notice of the date by publication once a week for two consecutive weeks in the manner provided in R.S. 38:1616.
