Text

Upon the filing of the petition and bond, the court shall issue an order, in the manner now or hereafter provided for the issuance of writs of provisional seizure, directed to the sheriff ordering him to provisionally seize and take into his possession the offending vessel and hold the same subject to further orders of the court, and directing at the same time that public notice be given to all persons interested to appear within fifteen days to answer the petition so presented; and thereupon the sheriff shall provisionally seize and take into his possession the offending vessel and hold her subject to the further orders of the court, and shall cause public notice thereof and of the time assigned for the filing of an answer to the petition to be given by public notice published three times
