§423.29. City of Opelousas; authority over police personnel by chief of police Notwithstanding the provisions of R.S. 33:423 or any other provision of law to the contrary, in and for the city of Opelousas, the chief of police shall discipline police personnel, not including termination, subject to the budgetary limitations established by the mayor and board of alderman pertaining to the number of allotted positions for the police department.
