§423.27. City of Eunice; authority over police personnel by chief of police
Notwithstanding the provisions of R.S. 33:423 or any other provision of law to the
contrary, in and for the city of Eunice, the board of aldermen may, by resolution, designate
the chief of police as the appointing authority of the police department and thereby authorize
him to appoint, discipline, and discharge police personnel subject to the budgetary limitations
established by the mayor and board of aldermen pertaining to the number of allotted
positions for the police department.
