Text

A. Notwithstanding the provisions of R.S. 33:2536(B)(1)(a), to be eligible for appointment to or to serve as a member of the Jefferson Parish Fire Civil Service Board, a person shall be a citizen of the United States of America, a resident of Jefferson Parish for at least five years preceding his appointment, and at the time of his appointment, a qualified voter of the parish. B. Notwithstanding the provisions of R.S. 33:2536(L), the Jefferson Parish Fire Civil Service Board may fill the office of secretary in one of the following ways:

(1)By employing and paying on a part-time basis any other person a salary not to exceed fifty percent of the maximum rate of the salary of a full-time department records clerk of the Jefferson Parish Fire Civil Service System, which salary shall be subject
