Text

There is created in the city government a department of city civil service, the administrative head of which shall be the city director of personnel. In the department there shall be a city civil service commission, composed of three members. Adequate annual appropriations shall be made to enable the department to carry out effectively the provisions of this Part. The domicile of the department shall be in the city to which it appertains, at which place suitable offices and quarters shall be provided by the governing body of the city. All officers and employees of the city shall allow the department the reasonable use of public buildings under their control, and furnish heat, light and furniture, for any examination, hearing, or investigation authorized by this Part.
