A.The governing authority for the parish of Jefferson is authorized and empowered, upon its own initiative, to form and create one or more ambulance service districts within the parish of Jefferson. The governing authority for the parish of Jefferson is further authorized to alter the boundaries of any ambulance service district, provided that no such boundary change shall cause an impairment of the obligations of any contract of the ambulance service district. Any ambulance service district so created shall include all or part of the territory in the parish, provided that any incorporated municipality included within the boundaries of the district is included in its entirety.
