§ 29:513 — Powers of adjutant general

The adjutant general may make rules and regulations to govern the institution. He may enter into contracts for the rent, construction, and repair of buildings used by or belonging to the institution and for the purchase of land upon which to construct them. He may appoint the superintendent, the matrons, the physicians, and the other officers and employees that he deems proper for good management. He may fix their compensation and may remove them at his discretion. He may solicit contributions and may accept donations inter vivos or mortis causa for the institution. He may sue and be sued and otherwise appear in all actions pertaining to the institution.
