Text

A. A person shall not act or hold himself out as a claims adjuster in this state unless the person is licensed as a claims adjuster in accordance with this Part. B. A business entity acting as a claims adjuster is required to obtain a claims adjuster license. Application shall be made using the uniform business entity application. Before approving the application, the commissioner of insurance shall find that:

(1)The business entity has paid the fees set forth in R.S. 22:821.
(2)The business entity has designated a licensed adjuster responsible for the business entity's compliance with the insurance laws, rules, and regulations of this state. NOTE: Former R.S. 22:1663 redesignated as R.S. 22:841 by Acts 2008, No. 415, §1, eff. Jan. 1, 2009.
