§436.3.1. Type 1 diabetes information; distribution to school boards A.

(1)The Louisiana Department of Health shall develop and provide type 1 diabetes informational materials to the state Department of Education. The state Department of Education shall provide the information to each city, parish, and other local public school board.
(2)Information provided to the school boards pursuant to this Section shall include but not be limited to all of the following:
(a)A description of type 1 diabetes.
(b)A description of the risk factors and warning signs associated with type 1 diabetes.
(c)A description of the need for screening of all students for early detection of type 1 diabetes using a blood autoantibody test.
(d)A recommendation that a parent or guardian of a student displaying warn
