Text
A. A student for whom a loan is made pursuant to this Chapter and under the provisions of this Section shall, upon graduation and acceptance of a teaching position pursuant to this Section, be a member of the Louisiana Teacher Corps. B.
(1)Notwithstanding any other provision of this Chapter, the commission shall forgive any loan made to an applicant in return for services rendered by the applicant by practicing his profession as a classroom teacher in an elementary or secondary school which is located in an economically disadvantaged region of the state as shall be defined by the State Board of Elementary and Secondary Education. Two year's funding of the loan together with the interest thereon shall be forgiven by the commission for the applicant for each year of practicing his profession
