A.A loan may be made by the board pursuant to this Chapter for an amount not in excess of two thousand dollars per undergraduate year or a total of eight thousand dollars for any approved applicant, provided such loan is used to defray the tuition and other expenses of any such applicant at a public college or university in Louisiana.
B.A student for whom a loan is made by the board pursuant to the provisions of this Chapter shall be required to repay the full amount of the loan and interest thereon to the board. Notwithstanding the foregoing, the board shall forgive such a loan to the applicant in return for services rendered by the applicant by practicing his or her profession as a classroom teacher in any public elementary or secondary school in Bienville Parish in an area of critical
