§1221. Authority to contract for group life insurance; former employees Parish school boards, the state board of education or other boards of control of publicly supported educational institutions may be and are hereby specifically authorized to make contracts of insurance with any insurance company legally authorized to do business in this state insuring its employees or any class or classes thereof under a policy or policies of group insurance covering the lives of such employees; and, for such purposes, may agree to pay part or all of the premiums or charges for any such contracts out of any funds appropriated for the purpose and included in the budgets of said parish school boards and institutions.
