§121. Orleans Parish; election and terms of members; apportionment; qualifications; compensation; vacancies; prohibited acts A.

(1)The school board of Orleans Parish shall consist of five members elected at large at congressional elections. Candidates shall qualify and the elections shall be held as provided by the election laws of this state. The members in office on July 1st, 1984, shall serve until their terms expire. Any member elected in the regularly scheduled elections in 1984 shall be elected for a term of four years. Any member elected in the regularly scheduled elections in 1986 shall be elected for a term of two years. Members elected at the congressional elections in 1988 and their successors in office shall be elected for four-year concurrent terms.
