A.The assistant district attorneys of the Twenty-Fifth Judicial District shall receive, in addition to any salary paid to them by the state, if any, an annual salary as set out by the district attorney from the annual budgeted funds provided by the governing authority of the parish of Plaquemines for salaries for assistant district attorneys, said salaries to be set for each assistant district attorney by the district attorney at his discretion. The total amount of the said budgeted salary funds which have been designated by the governing authority of the parish of Plaquemines to be paid to the assistant district attorneys as directed by the district attorney shall not be reduced once same has been in effect for a period of six months.
