§850.1. Establishment; purpose and title The governing authority of Union Parish may create, establish, and construct a centralized, single-parish jail and prison for the purpose of providing for the maintenance and upkeep of all persons lawfully incarcerated in Union Parish. If created, established, and constructed, under this Part, this jail and prison shall be known as the "Union Parish Detention Center". No other provision of this Part shall be effective or operative unless and until the Union Parish Detention Center is created and established by the Union Parish Police Jury under this Part. Acts 1989, No. 539, §1.
