Text

A. The commission shall have the right to incur debt, enter into contracts, and to perform any act which is necessary or proper for carrying out the objects and purposes of the commission. B.

(1)Subject to the approval of a majority of the electors within the parish of Terrebonne, the commission is hereby authorized to levy an ad valorem tax on property located within the boundaries of the district without limit as to the amount of the tax.
(2)Before any tax is levied under the provisions of this Section, there shall be submitted to the qualified electors of the parish at a special election called for the purpose, the proposition to authorize the imposition of the ad valorem tax. Such proposition shall include the purpose, rate, and duration of the tax. Such election shall be conducted in
