§ 15:827 — Duties of Department of Public Safety and Corrections

§827. Duties of Department of Public Safety and Corrections A. In addition to other duties imposed upon the department it shall be the duty of the department to:

(1)Establish programs of research, statistics, and planning, which shall include but not be limited to studies of the efficacy and performance of the policies, plans, and procedures of the department and studies of the treatment of offenders, and to provide information about other programs of the department.
(2)Make an annual report to the governor with respect to the work of the department, which shall include but not be limited to statistical and other data, accounts of research work performed by the department, the results of inspections of local detention and correctional facilities and statistical and other data on persons
