§811. Inmate contact with persons outside of parish or multiparish prison; temporary release or furlough
A.The sheriff of each parish prison and the administrator of each multiparish prison
may authorize visits and correspondence under reasonable conditions, between an inmate and
approved friends, relatives, and other persons. Notwithstanding any provision of law to the
contrary, the sheriff or administrator may authorize the temporary release of an inmate only
for serious illness or death of a member of the inmate's family or for an interview of the
inmate by a prospective employer. For purposes of this Section an inmate is a person serving
a sentence pursuant to a court judgment.
B.The sheriff or administrator may authorize a furlough to an inmate of a parish or
multiparish prison. Suc
