Text

A. The department shall furnish a staff for the committee on parole, and if such personnel are available, upon the request of any court of this state having criminal jurisdiction shall furnish probation and parole services for such court. B. Upon the request of the appropriate parochial or municipal authority, the department shall perform the following services:

(1)It shall provide consultation services with respect to the design, construction, programs and administration of detention and correctional facilities for adults operated by parishes and municipalities;
(2)It shall make studies and surveys of the programs and administration of such detention and correctional facilities;
(3)It shall administer programs of grants-in-aid for construction and operation of approved local facilities
